When I lock my boat trailer crank, so that I can crank the boat by hands to the boat trailer, my crank goes in the opposite direction. What I mean is, I click the lock up so that when I crank the boat onto the trailer, the boat does not roll back off the trailer. HOwever, when I try to lock it, and then crank the boat manually to the trailer, the boat keeps rolling back off the trailer because the crank no longer locks it. So, my question is, there some sort of switch or spring that got swiched to reversal for the crank?

There is a spring loaded rachet pawl that needs lubricated or the spring is broken. The above answer is probably the culprit.

Just replace the crank unit, some new line is probably needed as well.

Sounds to me that you may have the strap loaded backwards on the spool.
