Conservatives tend to try and point to people such as Barney Frank and his indiscretions in the 1980's BUT FAIL to acknowledge the fact that his constituents re-elected him and others. Barney Frank called Craig a hypocrite because he was a strident voice against any kind of gay rights yet there he is being stung in a gay solicitation bathroom deal.
However, the Dems have pretty much stayed above the fray and let the Pubs eat their own. The conservative talking heads hate that, so in their limited minds they are trying to stir up trouble as usual to rally their base in any meaningless way that they can. For the most part, with the exception of William Jefferson, the corruption, sex scandal headlines have been dominated, for the better part of 26 months, by Republicans. Bob Ney, Tom Delay, Duke Cunningham, Jack Abramoff and prior to this scandal, Sen. Ted Stevens just to name a few.
Edited to add: I agree with another responder. Dems do not claim to corner the market on "morality" and placing themselves above anyone else in terms of being "saintly" the way the Pubs have. So they don't have far to fall if their pedestals tip over.

Of course once again we will defend a homosexuals right to live within our laws, it will be lost that we do not defend public lewdness.
