people have been only favoring a certain genre of music and THAT'S it...I mean it seems that people don't have variety in music anymore. I seem to be listening to music like Jack Johnson at one moment...and then Kanye West the next...and then out of nowhere comes Tim Mcgraw....and then back to AC/DC...and it goes on and one...

I'm a big fan of music..and I've noticed the lack of interest people have in other genres. Do you agree? Star if you do..and if you have an explanation please explain.

I think it is more that people are AFRAID to admit they like certain genres. People hate rap for a myriad of reasons. (Only thugs listen to rap) People hate country (what another song about his truck, wife, or dog) People hate classical (only conceited eggheads listen to classical) Me whatever I am in the mood to listen to. I like everything from Tori Amos, Wu tang Clan, Metallica, and J pop.

I agree (to some extent). The majority favor "Pop" music because it is what originated as the most popular type of music. I believe people feel a demand to listen to what everyone else is listening to. Then, there's the few who go outside the box, like me!

It seems, as you grow up (in your teenage years, usually) you grow a strong love for one genre more than any other.

I'm a fan of almost anything.
I'm not really into rap, or heavy metal, but I listen to country, rock, r&b, classical, etc. I like variety.
As long as it's got a nice beat and I can actually understand the lyrics, I'll probably be listening to it.

I like Johnny Cash, Kutless, Andrae Crouch, Pantera, Patsy Cline, Bethoven, Izzy and Chevelle. Pretty diverse huh?

I do agree. Somehow we use to be exposed to more types of
music even in grade school music classes. Maybe the stations all cater to their demographic so thoroughly that there is no longer a chance to HEAR anything different.

You are probably right about this. It doesn't apply to me personally though. I like most genre of music.

I agree. Musically speaking, most people seem to have "tunnel vision". Except for rap/hip-hop, I'll listen to anything & everything.
