The signs to look out for are
A lump or thickening
A change in the size or shape of a breast
Dimpling of the skin
A change in the shape of your nipple, particularly if it turns in, sinks into the breast or becomes irregular in shape
A blood-stained discharge from the nipple
A rash on a nipple or surrounding area
A swelling or lump in your armpit
Like breast lumps, these signs don't necessarily mean cancer. Inverted nipples, blood stained nipple discharge or a rash can all mean other things. But if it is new to you, you should get it checked out. You may need treatment for something else. It may be nothing and seeing the GP will put your mind at rest. Or at the very worst, you do have a cancer and are giving yourself the best chance of successful treatment by going to the doctor early on.

Since I am a breast cancer survivor (17 years), I'll share the symptoms that I had: Sleepy most of the time. A small amount of discharge from both nipples - kinda like whiteheads. A burning sensation in my right breast when sleeping on my stomach. THEN the small lump appeared. I went immediately to my doctor who ordered an ultra-sound on my right breast. He reported back to me that it was probably just a cyst, but to get a biopsy just to be sure. The biopsy was positive; my right breast was removed via a modified radical mastectomy. There were no further suspicious cells discovered. I waited 6 years and had breast reconstruction using my own tissue (tram muscle, veins, fat tissue). I feel I am fully recovered and back to as normal as possible.
If you are having any of the symptoms I mentioned, contact your doctor right now - do not wait! I also want to say that my symptoms are not the only ones experienced by any other person. Go to this site to learn more: webmd.com/breast-cancer/tc/Breast-Cancer-Symptoms.

Hard lumps anywhere on the breast and underneath your armpit, discharge from your nipple, pain...
If you think there may be something wrong, go to a doctor as soon as possible. Cancers are easily treatable when caught early.
Good luck!
