I was thinking about getting this laptop (Compaq Presario c500t 15.4" Notebook) and was wondering if it is a good one that will hold up for a few years. I can get the standard configuration for $377, or the upgraded one for $456. Does anyone think this is a good deal?

it would be better if you'll go for the upgraded 1, because windows vista operating system requires a minimum of 1gb RAM... if you choose the standard (377$), its has only 512mb of ram, and for sure that will make your pc slow...

Yes excellent buy either way. The extra RAM and improved CPU are worth the extra bucks.

get the upgrade you're getting more memory and a better processor at about only $90.00 dollars more

Please, get the premium one, it will perform about 50-75% better, depending on the application.
