It depends on if it was an online friendship or an in person friendship. Probably no though because I would think they were hiding something.

On the internet I would say yes, but, with exceptions. If for one instance I think the person is under 18, I cut all ties. It just isn't right for a child to have an older adult friend. Too many problems and not enough checks and balances to be acceptable.
Now if it were a person who wanted to be my friend personally in the flesh...... I would say that would trigger a few red flags. I'm not that trusting. I'm a good judge of character and that would probably rub me the wrong way.
The internet is more of a pen pal friendship, so I could care less if you hide your age, sex, race, religion, and political bias.

If it was on the internet I wouldn't mind, it's probably smart to not tell people too much. If this is in real life though, they are a freak and you should run, run, run. Before they stalk and kill you or steal your credit card lol

So wise one said , what is in the name.

So making friendship we are making friends with like mindedness, and not with the age and name. unless it is for marriage romance and sex purpose , name age does not matter at all.

fiendship stands for openess and easy flow of communication. so long as this continues it is fine.

I would if it's just over the internet. No harm in that, but if the point came where we decide to meet, that's a bit scary

The Master says, "If a stranger asks you for your shirt, give them your coat also. If they ask you to go a mile, go two miles." I haven't met that standard all the time, but once or twice. peace
