The size, in general, is mainly genetic.
Pictures of Chinese people being thin - in general - shows that there is less consumption of food and more physical labour as prevalent factors.
The Chinese people - from China - have survived many periods of famine and political purges - so probably the results of years of starvation.

Perhaps with the new prosperity, over the next ten to 20 years, there will be more fatter Chinese.

That is like me asking why are all americans fat. Not all chinese people are skinny its probably just the only chinese people that you have seen are skinny

well i've got to say that Chinese people are generally skinnier than Americans. i would know since i was in china last year. they don't eat fast food, ice cream, and grease like we do.

but there are definitley overweight Chinese people. saying all Chinese people are skinny is a really bad generalization

Being skinny is the norm. So the fair question is Why are Americans so obese? Lack of excercise and fatty food.

Well, you mean, until they come over here and start eating the way we Americans do, i.e., super-size everything, more of this, and more of that, smorgasbord style eating.
