I've noticed that, and I'm not sure why; I think that it's because there's something missing (or people think there is), and they think they'll find it if they 1) move foreward faster (younger people) or go back and re-trace themselves (older ones). My self, I've always thought I was the perfect age; I can't ever remember wanting to be older or younger EXCEPT during a really bad time in my life in which I was being abused, and I only wanted to be older then because I knew I'd be able to leave the abusive home.

i really don't know, but i think that it's because kids feel like the sooner they're older, the sooner they'll have more importance in the world, and be able to do anything they want wihout being reprimanded or restricted by adults; and older people want to be younger so that they can do what they want and not be thought of as stupid, and so that they don't have to worry about working or paying bills, taxes, etc., it could also be so that they could be healthy , and more able bodied. i'm a very smart 7th grader. yes, this all came from my undeveloped, barely teenage brain. i rock.

I am guilty of that. At 13 I wanted to be older because there was this 17 year old I liked. He didn't buy it though. Now I want to stay younger because, old is not my thing. Gray hair is not going to cut it. I tell everyone I am 19, and I have been telling them that for 26 years, and ain't no shame in my game, because I still looks young.... Hello!

I am not sure --but I tell little ones every day not to grow up to fast, enjoy childhood since it only last such a little time. WE want to be younger because we know we are closer to the end of our lives I guess, that it the reason for me, I want to be around for my children and my family.

Now that I am older I appreciate different things. I don't want to be younger. I like the age that I am now.

That, my dear, is the question of the ages. When we are
young we are too young to do the things we want so we
wish we were older. When we get older sometimes we
can't do the things we want or use to do, so we wish we
were younger again. No win situation. We wish our lives
away and don't even realize it. Sad, isn't it. Good question
by the way--extra stars for you! ***************************

young people tends to be impatience and do things fast. By the time to grow old, they regret doing things so recklessly when they were young, and wish they could be young again to right things wrong.

That's called life. We're always wanting something different. If we're over weight, we want to lose weight. If we're Short we want too be tall. We have one job, but it doesn't pay enough.
