1982 - I was student coach for our High School volleyball team and faked illness during the World Series to watch the Cardinals play the Brewers.
1985 - Missed college classes on consecutive nights because of Ozzie (HR-Game 5) and Jack (HR-Game 6) against the Dodgers in the NLCS. At a wedding reception for Game 6 of the WS. Entire hall gathered around 12" B&W set when Dinkenger blows call and gives KC victory. Not sure if marriage went any better or not. :)
1987 - Dropped out of school for the September pennant race (that's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL). Another wedding during Game 7 of WS. What are the odds?

My son and I left work and school early to watch the redsox get their rings in 2005. His excuse note said he had an appointment with David Ortiz and no one questioned it. I grew up when playoff games were in the afternoon and at my school, there was a B/W tv in the auditorium and you could watch the games. That's how I fell in love w/Yaz and the Redsox in 1967. My son has also missed school to go to NYC for a Yankee game-Life should be full of great memories. (as a side note-he is 13 -maintains a 94.8 average and plays 3 sports)

I live in Vegas and i stayed home when the Mets vs Dodgers game one of the national league division series was on. That was a good time, and we won! Yea i usually stay home for games, and the day after the mets lost to the Cardinals i took it real hard and stayed home from school the next day. Hopefully as i age ill get more un-sensative.

I have only missed one day of work/school to watch a game and I will never do it again. It was October 2,1978....If you are a Red Sox fan or a Yankee fan, you know what that day was!

I got last minute tickets to the third game of the World Series last year, so I called in sick to work.

Every year, my dad and I would skip work or school to catch the local minor-league team play a day game. That's one tradition I really miss! He died six years ago. I think I'll go to the next game in memory of him.
