It's normal not to get your period until you're 18. Not real common, but OK. Being VERY skinny can cause a girl not to get her period. A lot of girls who run track and are very skinny do not have periods. This is not normal. If you are bone thin, like if your ribs are sticking out, you should see your doctor, and discuss this with with him/her. Either that or gain some weight. If you know you are anorexic or bulimic you must get help. Good luck, Sweetie. :)

At one time, it used to be normal for girls not to start getting their periods until they were 16 or 17 years old. Now, with better nutrition and hormones being added to food, it's becoming quite normal for girls to start having them as early as the age of 9. In your case, it's possible your extreme thinness has delayed them but you should also check with other females in your family. It could be that later periods run in your family. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it that much but if you're really concerned about it, then you should go see a doctor.

No, body fat and weight has nothing to do with it. Its perfectly normal but if you still havent gotten it by the time your 18 then its time to get yourself off to a doctor just to make sure!
Your actually quiet lucky, trust me, once you have it you will wish you dont!
