Is it because when it comes to a choice between serving the interests of corporate America or serving the interests of those who elected him... he'll chose the corporations every time?

Because, what could be better for business than a workforce that toils for next to nothing, drives down wages for everyone else, can't protest or unionize, and then goes away when you're done with them?

Key to the Bush administration's immigration reform is the controversial guest worker program, which preserves the flow of cheap, low-skilled labor to American businesses while limiting the potential costs to employers and taxpayers.

Under the program, there will be no children to educate (since guest workers won't be allowed to bring their families with them), no old-age entitlements to dole out (since workers will have to return home after working here for a maximum of six years), not even any health care to pay for (since these low-wage workers will be required to purchase health insurance).

Pretty sweet deal, eh?

It isn't the corporations that want the illegals, it is your local restaurants, farmers, construction companies and the like. Corporations have no particular interest in this subject.

Think of what happens if the illegals were suddenly removed. Not like that lame movie, but reality. It would result in increased prices in each of those businesses that use illegals as a primary work force. Then what happens?

My guess is that prices for everything will shoot up drastically due to people wanting more money for what the illegals used to do for less, I don't think that we have a clue as to what we are looking at and it will all be our fault because we just let it happen for all of these years, We can't blame no one but ourselves for never enforcing our own laws.

(Oh, & those "supporters" you pay attention tell approximately?- they are somewhat previous Recordings of folk who DID like him- as quickly as upon of time... regrettably- maximum of those have been given sent off to Iraq, & have not come again yet...). :)

You know, I often wonder that myself. After all, this does not seem like a very "republican" thing to do. But why does he also want to build the "Berlin Wall" to keep them out? This would seem to be hypocrisy on top of hypocrisy. Are we certain that this man has not suffered a Fall?

Bush owes his corporate buddies. His corporate buddies want cheap, uneducated, docile labor to exploit. When you mix in illegal aliens it's a match made in heaven.

Absolutely correct.

Footnote: We can't ignore the Dem reps that also fought for illegal alien amnesty alongside Bush. They too have aligned themselves against the interest and wishes of the American people in this regard.
