I think you should play saftey. just a suggestion, fast, tackle hard and sometimes you need to catch for intercetption.

Without seeing your skills nobody here can give an honest suggestion. Your coach will be plenty capable of identifying position potential and may work you out at several positions to see what skill set you can offer. The most important thing you need to do is pay big time attention to the details of every position he puts you in....football at your level isnt overly difficult if you learn the details of each position (and keep in mind most of the others have played organized ball for several years so they know the why of every position they will play). Work hard and pay attention to the details....and dont be discouraged if you arent immediately a starter, use that as motivation instead of hanging your head and if you have a solid skill set soon enough you will establish yourself to your coaches. Coaches love hard workers who keep quiet and do their jobs...whiners never escape the doghouse unless they show big time talent so work hard and keep your mouth shut no matter how frustrated you get with a given situation.

i'm a feshman too! u need to talk to ur coach about that, but honestly the guys that will be trying out for the team have been playing for years and are huge 200+ pound guys. if i were you, i'd go for a sport like lacrosse
no offense, but i just tlked to my bf, and he said ur better off benchin it than being a safety- he used to do that until his injury
