It's as if people wear blinders when looking at the facts regarding this country. Why do people do that?

Good question! It's a matter of money, the money that gets sent there from here, by people here with money and power. Anytime anyone raises their voice against this practise, they are shot down quicker than you can say "Bob's you're uncle", like it's blasphemy or something.

Had a professor in college (a Bible College) who stated rather matter of factly, that Israel as is referred to in the Bible is not the Nation of Israel, the political entity it is now. The Nation of Israel IS NOT the church. I think a lot of people who follow blindly behind whatever Israel does, does so because they feel they are following scripture. Israel, in Biblical times was they Jewish race, not a governing entity. Did it occupy a throne? At times, but was later disseminated around the world and was even split amongst itself (Israel and Judah - northern and southern kingdoms).

Because the people who think that are only believing what they hear on the news, which is extremely biased.

Also, I do believe that those who deny that Israel is ignoring UN resolutions, and is actually an aggressor in the Palestinian conflict, deny because it suites them fine to do so. If they were to admit that AIPAC has too much power in this country, and that America has been supporting Israel for too long financially, than they will have to face the battle ahead of ridding the US of this problem.

Maybe those who deny that Israel has done more wrong than any country, are only ignorant because it is Palestinians who suffer the consequence. If it were Ireland Israel were commiting genocide to, you would see an uproar here in the States against Israel.

To be honest, I don't know many who think this. Every nation and group has people who support it, sport teams are a good example. This support is based on emotions, not facts, and need to be reconized as such. That's why supporters are not considered to be objective: they have their own agenda.
However, those standing on the outside will usually not be affected by the emotional side of things, and are more likely to see things objectively.
So, it is not just the supporters of Israel who are not objective, but supporters of any particular group.

I don't know anyone that thinks that but many times the US government acts this way by blocking any UN resolution that is designed to help Israel and the Palestinians make peace to some degree. I believe that the US in the UN has vetoed at least 29 resolutions formulated to work toward peace.

LOTS of "history" isn't. Some of us are still around who witnessed the holocaust first hand... I know where my dad was sent in WWII...

But half the world considers the interaction of a man called Abraham with his God to be the foundation of their belief systems and ethnic histories. Thousands of years of capitalizing on much more ancient mythology has just continued its landslide.

Religious structure is a fabulous tool for the opportunistic.

Because the people suffered more than any other in World War II and the country was created as a result.

Who does this?! Provide some facts and don't just make judgmental statements and see if you get a different result.

ADDED: As an American, I enjoy the freedom to my "stupid" beliefs about religion.

Try using that PC Liberal standard on people with whom YOU disagree. Try to grant our freedoms to ALL of us. At least TRY.

Indoctrination... religious zealotry... Ignorance and false loyalty. The public education system has a lot to answer for.

I condemn the illegal, brutal and holocaust against the Palestinians that are perpetrated by these people who tell us we are supposed to lament their misfortune of history.
