What do you think if both of these candidates get into the race? Personally, I think that at times when our country was fed up with liberals conservative presidents won by landslides (Nixon and Reagan). Now, with all this illegal immigration problem, now is the time more than any other that the American people are going to be sick and tired of our representatives ignoring us. That is why I think that it will be the largest landslide EVER. What do you think?

I think that Fred will be a top contender for the nomination. We don't know all too much about Fred yet though and we don't know what skeletons he has in his closet. I do however think that if he is hard on illegal immigration, lowers taxes, tough on terror and has a plan to handle Iraq other than just pulling out he will most likely get the majority of conservative votes. I do think that he will lose some votes over his Pro-Choice stance on abortion, but I don't believe that in this day and age it matters as much has it has in previous elections because of the war and immigration deals. I believe he is the only person that can go up against Hillary and make her look like a fool. As far as Newt goes, I don't think he will enter because Fred is going to get a lot of attention and Newt hasn't even taken the steps to start to think about his entering

Newt will not get in the race (though he may be hoping for a brokered convention -- which is not likely).

Fred Thompson will not get the nomination. He waited too long to get in the race and the window of opportunity that was there for him four months ago has now closed after the Iowa Straw Poll. The nominee of the Republican Party will either be Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee with a very very outside chance for Rudy Giuliani.

Right now the country is fed up with conservatives due to Iraq, large budget deficits, and corruption by the Republican Party. The landslide is going to be the other way.

Giuliani's got the nomination sewed up because Republicans know he's the only one with any shot to beat the Democrat (presumably Hillary) in the current environment. Under normal circumstances, Cons would want a nominee to be more draconian on the social issues like themselves; But knowing how they were drubbed in 06 and the rarity of the White House staying in the hands of the same party more than 2 terms; They will sacrifice their appearance of social consitency for the sake of their hold on the White House being truly threatened.

I hope they get their butts whipped as badly as they deserve to anyway...

The country will never have a president with a name like Newt, Rudi, Mitt nor Fred or Huckabee.

I don't know about Thompson yet. I don't think Newt will run. He's just trying to have a say in the planks of whoever does get nominated.

Newt ... no way.

I think Thompson and Giuilani are going to fight all the way to the convention. Maybe they will be the Pres/VP nomination.

I want to hear what Fred has to say about the illegal aliens first. When 90% of the people in the U.S. want a fence, why is the North American Union being rammed down our throats? Who has a deal with who?
