Tylenol for the fever and headache, You need to be drinking lots of fluids, you have to let the flu run it ugly course. there is no way you can hurry it, take about 6000 units of vitamin C.
Gets lots of rest. Hope you feel better soon, Nice hot shower may help. Soups.

You ask very good questions.

As an ER doctor, I have several concerns for you

1. The "Flu", or influenza ia extremely rare this time of year

2. While this could be a virus, meningitis, west nile, severe sinus infections are all real possibilities.

If your headache is very bad, or your neck feels a biut stiff or hurts, if the lights bother your eyes, or hurt to move, then I recommend seeking IMMEDIATE medical attention.

If the answer is no, 800mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours AND 1 gram of Tylenol (assuming you are an adulat) every 4-6 hours, + plenty of gatorade like drinks, and see your Dr. at the 1st available oppportunity.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

What makes you believe that you have the flu? Fever plus headache that increases when lying down suggest sinus infection to me.

A doctor's visit is probably a good idea. A decongestant can decrease swelling in the sinuses. Saline nasal mist or drops can help irrigate the sinuses. And an over-the-counter pain reliever can help, too. Mucinex, or another guaifenesin medication (such as Robitussin) can help loosen secretions. Many doctors suggest taking it (with lots of water) even during antibiotic therapy--it helps drain the **** out.

Plenty of fluids. The flu must run its course.

Tylenol for the headaches and body aches.

Over the counter stuff like Theraflu is helpful, if you dont have high blood pressure or thyroid disease.

Feel better!
