My car was repossed by the dealership. They called me and told me that they would help me get my car back and that they would repair my car for me because it had stopped running. The dealership refinaced my car and added all the repair charges onto my car note. Me my 3 year old daughter my friend and her 4 month old son drove around Meridian and went to the mall, then drove 50 miles back home. When I went to put gas into my car all of it ended up on my foot because my fuel line was not hooked up proporly to my gas tank. What I want to know is can I sue the car dealership for negligence and reckless indangerment. Considering my car could have blown up at any moment while driving. Also can my friend sue them also?

You can certainly sue the dealership and rightly so. The lawsuit can end up in the millions if you get a smart enough lawyer, but they usually cost more too! :D

as for your friend, he/she can sue you for putting them in a dangerous position.

In order to have a tort suit (which this would be), you have to have incurred some ACTUAL damages (pain and suffering, repair costs, time off of work for the repair, rental car while your car was being repaired. . . ).

I don't know what your friend could sue for (unless he/she ended up with ruined clothes because of the gasoline).

See an attorney -- most will do a free consultation for something like this.

There are two parts to a lawsuit. In the first part you must prove that you were injured in some way. In the second part you must prove the dollar amount of the damage.
You probably could get a competent lawyer for $5,000., but what if you do not win. Ouch.

But you are still alive and there was no situation thank god. If there was impending warranty I say you would get the repair made. To be certain you need to consult with a real attorney. But It seems you are out of luck.

It could, but it didn't. You can only sue for the repair damage if they won't repair it free of charge.

WERE YOU ACTUALLY HARMED?

Other than losing some gas I'd say no! No lawsuit.
