Seriously, why do people care so much about what OTHER people wear? It's not on THEIR body so why should it matter? Why do people make such a big deal about wearing a black shirt with a brown skirt or something? One day i wore the same shirt as a 'popular' girl (sorry for the stereotype i hate them but had to use it) and she raised 9 kinds of hell. Whats the big deal? Why do people get made fun of because they cant afford abercombie or w/e? Just because someone shops at ross they're automatically poor or a loser. whats that about? Wow i dress DIFFERENT so i MUST be a freak.

anyone care to explain?

Ok so I'm a designer. Fashion is important because it allows us to create a fantasy for ourselves, to reach beyond the walls of reality and tap into our subconscious dreams and desires. You can do this with a painting, or a film, but fashion allows the audience to interact with the fantasy by wearing the garment. It sounds to me however that you are the victim of a strange social caste system that occurs in Junior Highs and High Schools. In my opinion Abercrombie and Fitch is kind of tacky and cookie cutter. It is a 'safe' outfit meaning you look just like everyone else and are just another sheep in the herd. I believe that an original outfit for under $20 bucks beats a boring one for over $100 any day.

Hahaha It's not a big deal really. I suppose it only matters to people who really like clothes. It's sort of like when people are into cars, they obsess over it and need to know what new cars are out that year - but with fashion it's with clothes.

The abercrombie stuff I never get. I think it is the most overpriced label ever. The stuff is standard and you get charged an arm or a leg. Anyone who wears abercrombie in my book are blind sheep, there are much better labels out there - e.g. RL

You are so right (I'm not kidding) why do people care so much about what other people wear. I'm not really sure but it might have something to do with jealousy, like why bullies bully people. "Popular" people tend to think their reign over the people is being threatened if someone wears the same article of clothing as them. And sadly it is true that some snobby rich people do tend to laugh of make fun of people who can't afford stores such as Abercrobie. I think people need to look into the heart before judging.

You are asking a loaded question. The latest fashions started with the leaves and animal skins for Adam & Eve. It all has to do with sin... being ashamed of our bodies, covering them up to hide our guilt & shame. If you are not ashamed & do not feel guilty, you will see clearly that fashion does not matter to you. But, it will still matter to the masses of people who still feel guilt & shame. This is how I explained it to my 10 year old daughter. Her reply was that we should just not wear clothes. Then, I had to explain that clothes are used to define occupations. Do you really want someone wearing nothing at all making your food in a fast food joint? No! Won't you freeze in the winter snow? Yes! So, there you go! We cannot escape wearing clothes. Plus, there is the issue of degradation of women in particular, having them show themselves undressed in sexually provocative positions. People obviously have to wear clothes. So, we now wonder just why it matters what another person chooses to wear on his or her body. Quite frankly, in my opinion, it does not matter to me, & it really should not matter to anyone else, as that other person most likely is not buying the clothes for that person to wear. It is rude to make fun of someone else for the clothing one has on. I do not think that you are a freak. If you want some of the Ambercrombie clothes, shop at thrift stores. I have a 9 year old daughter that, because she is special needs, she is going to a school where the other kids parents make at least 200K/yr. I don't want my daughter made fun of at school for what brand of clothes that she wears, so I buy her the name brand wardrobe items that she needs from thrift stores to fit in with the kids there. Unfortunately, she dresses herself & has a wild imagination about what shirt goes with what pants. So, my efforts are thwarted big time! Oh well! Life goes on. I agree with you.

Fashion is what you want to make it. Its the thing that makes the world go round to me. Wear what you want to wear nobody can tell you what is right or what is wrong. You're going to be judge because that's just natural to the human mind. Express your personality threw your clothes.
