If they went to the Big East, they would win the conference outright.

Appy state would finish 7th if they were in the Big East.
Behind WVU, Louisville, Rutgers, South Florida, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh (close.) Ahead of Connecticut and Syracuse (sad with their tradition.)
I don't follow the Mid Majors much except for the "big" 10 since I am a transplant here and have it constantly shoved down my throat. Yes, I know that they aren't yet considered a mid major, but wait a few years.
If they were in the "big" 10 they would finish 6th. Behind Michigan (would never happen again), Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Penn State (close.) They would finish ahead of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Northwestern, and Minnesota

App St would be lucky to win 2 games in the Big East this season ... They wouldn't be able to sneak up on anybody else.
Their style and talent level would be better in the WAC or MAC.

If they moved up to the bowl sub division they would do well in a mid-major conference, but eventually teams would stop over looking them.
Marshall was a good team when they first moved out of the SOCON (the same conference App State is in) and they had Randy Moss. now they are not so good.

I say they could run over every defense in the big east, although Louisville and WVU would outscore them. So let's give them third place in the big east. Hawaii would score 100 pts on App St though.

I think they would do better in the Pac-10. Oh and they clearly wouldn't qualify for the Big East since they aren't in Division 1A yet.

Win the thing. The Little Least is a poor league now, football and basketball.

They wouldn't stand a chance. WVU and Louisville would stomp them into the ground.
