And what is a sophomore?? It sounds like a brand of couch.

oh ok, so do americahhns call people in kindergarten 'stinky freshman sophomore lazy boy comfy recliners'?
are old people in Uni called 'venetian blinds'? do u know your ABC's once your in college, or carnival?

freshman refers to someone in the 9th grade or 1st grade of high school
sophomore refers to someone in the 10th grade or 2nd grade of high school
junior 11th grade or 3rd year at high school
senior 12th grade or last (4th) year at high school

these terms can refer to college years as well

A freshman is what you call a student in the first year of high school/college.

Sophomore is the second year.
Junior is the third year.
And senior is the last year.

The most commonly known names are freshman and senior, people tend to mix up the middle years.
