The UN is so right like the ACLU is usually so wrong. All the money spent on arms and war, is any logical thinking person's dream to be spent on development (especially on the children of brain washed generations).

When an average parent has to carry a firearm while trying to safely take their child(ren) to school and home (everyday), yes firearms are security. But think about it; if me or you had to carry a gun to get our kids to school every day it still is not one quarter of the security that our military will provide.

Ask him why he doesn't say anything about China, or is the U.N. too afraid to offend them?

China is spending hundreds of billions of dollars on its military (exchange rate adjusted) while 900 million people are practically homeless in China's rural villages. Reports said that over 50 million people were lacking enough food to eat in China in the year 2005.

Neo-cons are simply sharing the joys of the 2nd amendment with the world. Neo-cons greatest strength, is their ability to throw gasoline on a volatile situation. As with Ronald Reagan who sold illegal arms to Iran, neo-cons have an innate desire to give arms to the world and then invade their countries to take the arms away.

I don't know how many times we're going to have to be bitten in the butt by a former ally before we learn our lesson. No it does not make us more secure. History has proven that.

in order to have an unending war, your enemy needs to be well armed. duh. did you think this war on terror is real or something? come on. look at our border. meanwhile american citizens get harrassed if they leave the country and try to get back in through an airport. this government doesn't want security, it wants the illusion of security. you have alot to learn. sadly, you are not alone.
