Called my new pack in friday at the pharmacy.Today is Sunday. I was told I cannot get my pills until Tuesday. I won't be able to pick them up until Wed. considering their hours they are open. So that means I was supposed to start my new pack today, and can't because of this silly holiday on monday.

What I'm wondering is, should I skip this months pills and just use protection, or should I just start them late and when I am able to(Wed.) and continue until my period starts?

I have been on these pills for 6 months. I have not had sex during my period. I plan to start the pills again after my next period.
I'm worried if I don't take them this month it will skrew with my body, and have bad side effects for me starting again after being off them for a month. I am now regulated and I'm expecting this to mess with that.

Please help, thanks.

Pure1, don't dictate my life. I am obviously not going to mess up my hormones forever. And I don't plan to have lots of unprotected sex and not care about what happens. I don't need to be told what I should have done, I just wanted my question answered. Plus, the pharmacy is currently closed so I can't call.

what you do is...
since you are 3 pills behind, when you get your pack on wed take sun and mon pills immediately.
on thurs take tues and wed pills, then on fri take thurs and fri pills. YOU MUST USE A BACK UP METHOD FOR AT LEAST 14 DAYS. then on sat go back to taking 1 per day.
you will have irregular bleeding, thats just something you cant get away from when you miss pills.

I believe what is recommended if you miss more than 2 pills is that you just start with the pill you should be on, but be extremely careful to use extra protection (i.e. condoms) for the rest of the month (until after your next period). To confirm, when you go to pick up your pills, ask the pharmacist. Have you considered finding out whether the pharmacy chain you use has a 24-hour location that they could transfer your prescription to just this once?

If you're happy with the way it's working and are not bothered by starting on Wednesday in terms of scheduling, I would say start them as soon as you get them. However, you SHOULD use protection for the entire cycle because theoretically you COULD ovulate in the 4 days you aren't taking any pills. It will be better to restart the new pack ASAP if you are using them to regulate your cycle though. If you wait until your next "natural" period comes, it might take a long time. Some people start their "natural" periods right away, but some don't and then you'll regret waiting.

So, either way, use a method of back up protection for the next cycle if you don't want to get pregnant, but I'd say start it ASAP.

You really should call back the pharmacist and ask what to do about the delay in taking your pills.

Next time, you should call in your refill during the third week, so you have it when the pill pack runs out and so you don't have an issue like this again.

Start your pack whenever you like stop taking the pill on your first day of a period and take it on the day you finish and onwards after. dont worry about it. you ever wanna skip a period, just keep taking the pills and dont have a period, dont have a 1 week break from the pills.
