My fiance is currently deployed in Iraq. Now that he's gone, I'm becoming very lonely. I'm in the military, also, and all of friends have moved away. My family live over 1,500 miles away, so it's expensive to fly home on a regular basis. I've tried meeting new people, but it seems like everyone has their own group of friends and won't include me in anything. My question is: what should I do to occupy myself for the next 6-7 months until my fiance comes back? I'm a single mother of a 7 year old, but I can only "hang out" w/ him for so long before he even gets tired of me.

Isn't there something the military has for spouses of someone in the military?

Check with the base and see what you can do.

former SGT here, write, write, write, and write that man some more, i know you are lonely but he has IEDs and a civil war to worry about, make stuff for his unit, occupy your time making his tour less stressfu, knowing you are "bored: at home only adds more stress to him. he doesnt need that Sh/t right now
