Of course. But what course for the Brits?
Within a short time all of them will be living near the Basra airport. Their only serious activity is training the Shi'ite army and/or police.
But, why would anyone want to train Shi'ites? They outnumber the Sunnis four to one. They have been armed and trained for several years. The Kurds are also helping them. Even Shi'ite Iran, our sworn enemy is helping them! Shi'ites rule! It's the poor Sunnis who will be slaughtered once we leave.
OK, so maybe the Sunnis - who subjugated the Shi'ites for the last 80 years and stole all their oil and slaughtered them by the thousands under Sadaam Hussein - deserve to be treated in kind. That's the law of the jungle, I understand.
But why is it in our national interest to pile on? I know that Bush is clueless outside of the ranch (and maybe inside), but the British, with there perfect pronounciation? And impeccable manners? Surely they know better.
Are they hired guns? Is there a payoff under the table?
It's a mystery. I'm curious. I want to know. I'm only asking. You know what I'm saying?

Yah, well what do you think he will do. He will continually ask all allied nations to stay the course. Besides your question is moot, the Brits are leaving anyway.

Bush seemed quite content with wasting American resources.
Yet in the article linked above:
"Bush Urges Allies to Keep Troops in Iraq"
So now, Bush is begging people not to abandon him in his hour of greed.
