Pros: It spreads the cost of something expensive over all the residents of the area. It brings jobs and tourist revenue to the area. It can greatly increase the status of a town, thus bringing in more tourist dollars and new employers. It makes the town seem more "legitimate."

Cons: It makes some people pay for the "luxury" of a stadium when they never plan to use it. The team may leave town or go out of business after just a few seasons. The team is an independent business and may not conduct itself in a way consistent with the wishes of the town.

Everyone pays if it is tax payer bought and if they are not sports fan then they cannot really enjoy it!

It is a waster of their money if they don't like it

Hmmmmm.....that's a problematic one....Uhhhhh.....NO!Overpayed and spoiled athletes and the proprietors who screw the followers don not deserve a monument to glorify the downfall of our activities.
