I think it doesn't matter if the world is illusory or material. Suppose I am fooled by an evil Demon as Descartes has suggested or living in the "desert of the real" that Baudrillard describes. Does it change in any way what I do day to day?
I do believe that I am trapped, a victim of my own sensations and perceptions. But knowing this liberates me.
Ultimately, I like the world I am in. Whether it is illusory or material. Whatever it is, I am quite happy with it. I do think it is important to question as you are doing. We are all questioners here! But sooner or letter questions and doubt must end and we must go forward with or without truth. That is the nature of the game. Time doesn't stop.
There is a Zen story. The Zen master is returning from the woods carrying firewood. A villager stops him and asks "Master, master what must I do?" The Zen master drops all his firewood. The villager looks astounded and says, "Then what?" and the master picks up all the firewood and walks away.

It's true. I have a friend (sorta) who has a condition where her mind is kind of in its own world....but what if that's how everyone is? Is it not possible that everything we've been living and knowing just a big illision to what is really the truth? But even if it is...the world we see keeps us alive, happy, sad, angry...every emotion yet to be felt by human nature. Do we not survive in this world, even through our own ways? We can never stop thinking what if, so why not just live like there is none?

There are some sick minds that put all their strength in trying to do that, until truth come up - never heard?
Some of us like to live freely and believe in clear facts is one of its symptoms. But worry not for if there's one thing we know for sure is how much we do treasure the truth - that to be clear is composed by invisible points too - which is unclear for all of those who aren't able to deal with it= for them is rubbish

That's a good question to ponder about. I believe what we see and feel are real, but when it comes to believing things, it could be a possibility that it's just what a lot of people believe. Some things we are taught and told could just still be the beliefs of the past, and possibly not truths, but one never knows. :)

It's all an Illusion. As George Harrison says in one of his songs..
We were talking - about the space between us all
And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth - then it's far too late - when they pass away
One of my favorite books is Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach.
Once you open your mind you realize it's really quite trippy...
Great question, had to Star it!!

it is all an illusion... well... more like a dream....
Google "Osho"
he's awesome.
How can it not be a dream?
this whole world is just silly... some people cant see it as silly because we are born into it... and taught things that then becomes reality.
life cannot be explained. period.... no religion or scientists can explain it.. explanations all have holes in it. I just think that we'll know when we die.

Whenever you feel this way, pick some flowers. Ask them if it is real.
Sit in a garden barefoot, and let ants crawl across your fingers. Ask them if it is real. Are you real to them?
Being able to climb outside ourselves is the only way we can confirm it is real.

We do have a way of knowing. You can test the things your told by studying the laws of gravity and motion. You can test them yourself if you don't believe the discoveries of others.

If someone were to kick you in the balls right now, would you just be imagining the pain, or would the pain be real?
