I love to write stories but I cant write something worth reading unless I get insperation. I can't just THINK of something out of nowhere. And our teacher is reading all of them to class, and then the best get 20 extra credit points!!! Plus I'm in the middle of writing a much longer story that is not 1/3 and far to long to be a short story...
Sould I just wright one anyway even though it won't be very good, or sould I try and wait untill I get insperation?
(the short story can be about anything so long as it has a good plot diagram)

I listed a website you might want to explore to help jog your thoughts a little better. Writing can get blocked but this just to give you a boost.Best of luck to you. Short story can be fun you just have to invent.

You did not give a topic. Did the teacher give you a specific topic to write about? If so, just google some of the thoughts on that topic. From that sit back and let your own creativity use the facts and insights. Then, go for it!
I too, write and that was my major in college. I know what you mean about being "inspired"; however, when an assignment is due, you must make the deadline as this is how it is in the real world!

Write about something bad that happens to someone.....like a car accident resulting from drinking and driving or no seatbelts. Something that people can learn from.

why dont you write a mini-prequal to the other story you are writing????
