...why anyone would be bored and/or daft enough to do the following?
1) Set up at least 20 user accounts under a different alias each time;
2) Pick fights with themselves in the form of their alias;
3) Wait a week, then rant about themselves through yet another alter ego;
4) Create more accounts to defend themselves - in disguise, of course, and
5) seriously think that their ridiculous behaviour is anything othe than 100% transparent and totally laughable?

You know what? I think it has been going on for an awfully long time now, and it is glaringly obvious that it is one or two people, judging by the content of all the attacks. I may be wrong... but it seems to be the only logical conclusion. The thumbs down on answers here will make it more apparent.
I just glance at their nonsense, laugh at how silly and blatant it all is, chuck in my tuppenceworth here and there, and then move on. There's far more important things to be getting on with than worrying about some random person's multiple personality problem.
That said... the constant (un)civil wars of words do take up an awful lot of time and space in this section of YA though, don't they?!

If anyone has got that number of accounts I'm not surprised they get confused. It is irritating, though, to think that this board may well be controlled by one or two people with multiple ids. Perhaps it explains the number of VNs flying around!

I think we're all wise to it, hence the thumbs down they're getting across this category lately, although they could be doing that to themselves. It makes me glad that I have a life.

What is even funnier is when they forget to change their supposed inability to spell, to change their vocabulary, or to use different grammar when switching identities. It is hardly difficult to see who is doing this.
