Very important. Quality of goods and services, cost effectiveness, efficiency, qualifications of the people performing the work, The ability to stand behind what they do, Keeping all customers information private and not selling it to marketing consultants. And just being honest with the customer, and absolutely no high pressure sales. Let the customer decide on their own with reliable information supplied by you that can in fact be researched and verified. Not just hearsay.

Professionalism, knowledge of the product or service, reasonable hours of operation, do they honor their work or provide a warranty or guarantee? How long has the business been in existence? Does it have a good rapport in the community? How many people do you know that have actually gone to the business? What did they think? Are the prices/rates reasonable? Do you feel comfortable when dealing with them or do you have a strange feeling whenever doing business with them? These are all things to consider. Research is the key. Ask around. Especially if you are new to the town or city. Find out if the business is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce and if not then ask the Chamber of Commerce to recommend a business that could handle your needs.

It depends on the kind of business. If I'm buying something to make my home beautiful, then the place should have beautiful things. If I'm just going in for a cheap haircut or a cheap beer, then its no big deal. I think you have to give us more details on the type of business before we can provide really helpful answers.

Appearance is certainly the first thing I notice, but courtesy is more important to me. The lack of courtesy will keep me from returning or recommending other customers.

the hours and the staff certainly make a difference, too. Is it convenient to where I live or work?
