the car was starting fine yesterday but today it turns over but doesnt fire. I checked all the spark plug wires and plugs, checked all the wiring but i cant figure out what the problem is. i know there is a wide variaty of things it could be but any suggestions could help out alot.

Yes they were sparking. I have been working on my alternator the past few days though but i checked it and every thing on it is still hooked up.

Needs fuel, spark and compression. If you have all these then you need to scan your trouble codes for a possible problem. Is your battery at 13 volts or more with engine off. The volt meter on the dash will tell you this. If your battery is weak it will not allow the computer to work. You could try a jump start to see if battery is problem.

when you checked your spark plugs, did you see any sparks coming from them?
you didn`t give us enough info!
