NFL teams made roster moves to reach the 53-player limit.
Teams waived and released some players.
So, what is a difference between waiver and release?
What is a main reason for teams to choose between waiver and release? Which is a better treatment for players?
Thanks.

Waiver the team retains the rights to the player for a limited amount of time. For instance if Jax put Leftwich on waiver they would be hopoing to trade him for something (rd 6 or 7)
By releasing him they say they just want him out!

a waiver is basically the last string for the player. If the owner signs it, he is off the team. Other tyeams look on waivers and see what players will likely be released. Waivers are better
