I don't think it's weird at all. I don't have cable or satelite either. I would waste too much time watching pointless shows if I had it. :)

It's all relative. We used to have cable with the works. All the premium channels and the best DVR they could give us. But two kids later, money is a major issue. We had to choose between cable or Internet. With no Internet, there is nothing there, period. With no cable you can still pick up TV with rabbit ears. So that's the way we went. It's annoying that some of the stations don't come in worth a plug nickle, but that is the choice we made. I miss HBO, but I don't miss my life revolving around the boob-tube. Now I spend all of my time on Yahoo! Answers.

My parents tried to go without it recently, taking our cable from digital down to basic (about 30 channels). It was so crappy we had it set back in about a month. It did keep me from watching a lot of TV though...

I only think it's weird because we've had cable continuously since I was really small and the vast majority of people I know have it.

I don't have cable TV either. Every time I think about putting out the money for it, I look at the cable listings. More channels and still nothing worth watching. I can get that for free with broadcast.

I do not have cable TV. Why would I? I can get all the videos (or DVDs) to watch for free from either of 2 of the local libraries...
I have high-speed internet, coupled with my phone, so it is less than $50/month.

I think you are smart. We pay for cable TV and other than local stations we get a lot of garbage and infomercials. That kinda seems unfair. So, we pay almost $100/month for cable and internet access with Roadrunner.

not at all. When i get my own home,I will have basic cable(so I get decent tv reception for the few shows I like) and for internet purposes.

I only get it for hockey season. October to end of may. Then when I get it turned back on I get whatever deal they have at that time! I am to busy to bother the rest of the year. I read more and go out more so its better for me anyway!
