Between $500 & $1500
Closer to $1500
Call a nearby shop and ask them.
Every shop has performed that job countless times, so they'd know off the top of their head what the cost would be.

If it is even the shift fork ? ... depends on where you live and the labor rates where you live .... I would expect labor to be $150+ and parts like $80-$125

What year 250 is it, how many miles on it, etc. If your a new rider or purchased it used from a beginner rider .... the most common damage from a new rider is premature clutch wear or shift fork ... good luck.

your tranny has to be disassembled, dont remember if thats a flat rate job or not but call a shop remember labor is about 65 dollars an hour plus parts.
