Hate.....it is such a strong word.....to pitty is merely to just feel sorry for......its not as bad as hatred!

To hate, by far. Pity implies some kind of sympathy and compassion, or even feel sorrow for them. In my opinion, someone who hates, wouldn't be able to have or show pity.
