This is totally hypothetical, but if you knew an asteroid was going to hit Earth for sure, where do you wish it would hit and why? Let's presume this is not one that'll kill us all, but big enough to destroy a country, or a USA State, or an island (you can evacuate it first if you don't want to be too nasty!).

Some place where very few people live to minimise loss of life.

Well the last one that hit earth landed in the middle of Siberia (Tunguska, 1908) and although it caused a huge amount of damage, the location was so remote that no human was killed. So the middle of Siberia might be a good suggestion?

But seriously though, if you are going to ask a question as daft as this, then you should not be suprised at the idiot / racist replies...

On the general subject of meteorite impact theories, you really should take a look at the following links:
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/gsl/null/lang/en/page2837.html
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/gsl/null/lang/en/page2519.html

This story has been bubbling under for a few years now but this is the first time I think the Geological Society has published such a forthright article on a subject deemed scientific heresy by most ("the Chixilub impact did NOT kill the dinosaurs"). Fascinating stuff - this should be much bigger news, especially as most people consider the impact explanation to be fact!

Oooh good question! I would say that the asteroid is going to break in two and hit first Washington and then Texas in the USA. I would evacuate everyone, but only to Darfur in the Sudan. They would only be able to take what they have on, and they would have to live in the camps.

Now that WOULD be a world changing event!

But middle class people make it so you don't have to pay taxes, little *****, I mean, little princess. (:

Probably China. (Nothing against China, but we could REALLY USE MORE JOBS in the US, and not just mindless tasks like glueing buttons, jobs that require actual THOUGHT, like designing machines the make them for you. I'd want to get rid of all the ******* ugly factories that make stuffed animals and hats that clap when you pull the strings and let them live their peaceful village lives and maybe move up in the world.) Evacuated,, of course.

Maybe the American bible-belt. Not evacuated. Preferably with people standing atop mountains claiming that the end is near and that since you're special, God is going to let you live and go to heaven, with people slowly smoldering as the asteroid comes nearer and nearer and waiting for this God fellow to show up...

Or the Middle East. But evacuating all the women and children, PREFERABLY the women who disagree with their husbands and think they should be free. And we have to send all the American film makers over to tape it so they can watch all those **** up men burn alive.

Also, I really don't understand why anyone would want to kill Africa. The AIDS epidemic is sad and devastating, but also a reminder that the world isn't a free-for-all sexual buffet. I think some day we'll find a cheaper, more effective treatment for it and maybe things will be okay. Personally I'd just leave it alone and hope it sorts itself out. Yeah.

If they hit America's -(the USA's)- crotch then maybe THAT would sort out the world as the USA caused more epidemics and internal confusion THAN peace. I mean how many wars have they started this century? MANY. Many more could have but since countires like Korea have nothing of value the USA have given up...

EVIL, EVIL US...

That is to say that not every American is evil, just most of them are...

And they are pretty stupid...

tehe...

Few people seem to realize it, this planet's problems are caused by the banks. Perhaps a direct hit on the convention of all bank heads would allow for a new beginning. It certainly wouldn't make things any worse.
