Even better are Pera Dry Plus gaskets by Felpro, The are steel shim stock with embossed silicone on both sides. Not only do they seal perfectly, they are reuseable if you ever need to remove the valve cover

Yes, but myself I like to use "Hi-Temp. Silicon". Put an even rounded bead all the way around the edge of the valve cover (Clean & Dry First), set aside and upside down for 15 to 20 minutes, then install and thghten as directed.

rubber are the best but no matter which ones you use don't use any sealer on them if you do they will seep
