My husband wants to get a motorcycle and i'm worried about the safety of riding motorcycles. There are a lot of accidents and we have a daughter and one on the way. I'm just curious if it's the crazy, unknowledgable riders who are crashing or if it is really a dangerous way of transportation. Thanks for any info.

Look up the Hurt Report on the net. This was done by USC on accidents that happened in LA. If your husband is an experienced rider it makes a big difference. Also there is a book called Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough that has a chapter on the report and how he can improve the odds in his favor. It's a tough decision to make whether to ride or not in your case. Good luck what ever you decide.

the facts are they are as safe as you ride it it is tho that the big autos dont look out for you and thats the truth i rode for 5 years and never had an accident i live in the wash dc area alot of traffic you have to be on your toes and you could be hurt in a car or a motorcycle make it loud so her can be heard not living in so ca im not able to make an opinion of the area but just let the man ride he will be careful and im sure that he wont go out there and try to get hurt if it happens it will happen he needs this to make him feel good and it is a great ride good luck you will need some of it and god be with you and he will be have fun and get the wife to ride then she to will under stand the reason why we ride good luck rider good luck
