it really depends where you are going and how long you plan on taking.
The best thing you can bring is a small assortment of hoses, 2 Adjustable wrenches, 1 or 2 pairs of vice grip(1 needle nose). Small water filteration system(nothing worse then getting sick from tainted wter) a few extra spark plugs, 2 or 3 tubes for tires(small hand held air pump) and ALOT of toilet paper!!(Trust me on toilet paper) then the things you would normally take for camping (Light sleeping bag, Cumpas/GPS(Extra batterys for a GPS), food, waterproof matches) and a first aid kit is a must!! hope it helps a little bit... good luck on the trip oh ya, zip lock/sealable bags so stuff doesn't get wet.
