Because whenever someone asks a question concerning breeding of animals(cats, dogs whatever) and people come on here saying "YOU BAD PERSON SPAY NEUTER! ADOPT ADOPT!"

So we have no right breeding our animals?

That's not what is meant at all, but a lot of the people getting on here asking questions about breeding have no idea what they're doing. Only experienced people should breed any kind of animal in the best interest and for the advancement of the breed. That means they have to know a lot about genetics and animal husbandry in general.
They should also have the resources to get a vet involved if necessary, since breeding isn't just about getting a male and a female together and VOILA! instant kittens/puppies/kits/chicks aso.
I would advise against BACKYARD BREEDING for one simple reason: there are too many animals sitting in shelters waiting, lots of them being put down every day. Continous breeding just because you can just doesn't make sense when you consider all this.

Not necessarily. It's just anyone who comes HERE of all places to ask about breeding their pet, shouldn't be breeding animals. If they were really serious about it, they'd go to a vet; not some strangers that could/and often do give bogus answers or have no idea what they're talking about.

Too many stupid people out there just let their animals hump to high heaven and then are shocked when they can't find homes for the 15 plus baby mice/ 10 puppies/ kittens/ etc etc etc. Seriously, leave the breeding to the professionals, people.

Like Elaine M said: go to a shelter and see just what this "let them breed" mentality is doing. A woman I know that works at the shelter says people will just dump boxes full of kittens on their doorsteps every day. EVERY DAY. There's no way the shelters can find homes for all of these pets, and here we are letting ours go on a frenzied shag-out.

Seriously: go volunteer at a shelter, all of you out there who want to breed your pets 'cause it'd be cool/fun/whatever.

With the amount of dogs and cats that are forced to be put to sleep every year at the shelters, you're doing no one a service by adding to the numbers.

If you find homes for one or two, and they breed with 4 or more kittens to the litter (or pups), who finds homes for those?

No, get all your animals fixed. Try donating time at the local shelter as a dog walker or socializer and you'll see what the people there see of this 'let them breed' mentality. The fallout is really awful.
