you can transport it that way but you will need to let it set at least a few hours to one day to allow the oil to drain back into the bottom of the compressor....then you can use it as normal

My fridge was delivered by UPS and it was on its side during transit. As far as I know you do have to leave it it it's upright for 24 hours Before plugging it in again.

Unless it is fairly, old the motor should be bolted into place and the coolant system sealed. So it should be OK. Don't set it so the door is on the bottom though. You can damage the door if you do that.

You should not transport the 'fridge on the side, as the oil in the compressor will migrate out, and when the 'fridge is started, the compressor motor can be damaged (like running your car without oil). If you absolutely must transport the fridge on its side, DO NOT run it for a few days so that the oil can migrate back to the compressor. When you start it up, monitor the sound that it makes, and if it is unusual at all, immediately unplug.

You can transport it on the side. After you turn it upright, wait at least 6 hours to plug it back in. One hour is not long enough. This will give the oil in the compressor time to settle back down. If you plug it in right away, it may burn up the compressor because it has no oil.

Everyone says not too. It has nothing to do with the motor, it's the coolant that drains. I have transported many this way BUT you have to wait at least 24hrs before plugging in when in upright position to allow coolant to equal out again. I have NEVER had a problem. Both mine are are over 12 yrs old.

You can turn it however you like, but let it stand upright for 24 hours before you plug it back in.

yes you can but you should let it set upright for 12-24 hours(good rule of thumb) to let all the oil get back to the compressor so it doesn't damage it when you turn it back on

Make Sure you don't plug it in right away! Make sure you let it set long enough.
You may also want to check the brand. Some brands say to NEVER lay them down.

how long will it be on it side? if you do sit it up as soon as you can and leave it for a day. this will let gas & oil separate do not plug it in the same day.
