Well I know on most of the shows on VH1 are predominantly black. With the exception of Rock of Love which is in it's 1st season.
How do you know that they are turning away people of color ? I mean could it simply be about the ratio or numbers of people that apply and are qualified to be on the show ? Do you know for a fact that 100's of black people are applying for shows and being turned down is what I'm suggesting.
Because if that is the case then that would be racism and is reprehensible.
But as reelperspective brought out the black population being only 12% it could be simply a numbers game not a racial one.
If you have a cast of 10 and 12% are black then that is 2 people.
So that would be an acurate representation of the population and the black community.
And we shouldn't overlook other races being in the cast either.

I wish there was more diversity not just racial but also different ages too. Practically everyone is under 30 and look like they've all stepped right out of an Ambercrombie & Fitch catalog.

People always say this. Hey, guess what, in a country that is only 13% black you're not going to see as many blacks as others nationalities or races. It is simple high school statistics.
Hey tylremily, apparently you have never tuned to any day time talk show sush as "maury"

I've wondered the same thing a few times also. I think it's because that's just how it usually is. 96% of the people are white, and they always throw in that random black girl or guy. That's just the way it goes, I guess.

Listen....I don't know how many black people you think there are in this country. But we are only 12% of the population. (The media makes it seem like there are trillions of us). So naturally there won't be too many in comparison to other races.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing on Big Brother this year....I guess it depends on the producers and the personalities they pick...hopefully not based on race.

I think not many apply to go on the shows. Survivor seems to have several, every season.
