or just don't bother anymore?

Gailee01 - Boy you do go all out! Sounds lovely. I always wanted one in my bedroom but decided to put fairy mini lights on my brass head rail.

I have a beautiful seven foot tree that is artificial. It has long needles and is very realistic. It's funny, because I can put it smack against the wall in my apartment, only connecting the branches 3/4ths of the way around, so it fits right against the wall, and then I decorate it. My decorations are all mauve and pink, very Victorian.

*lol* the thing I found out the first year I did this? Make sure and weigh down the back side of the tree stand; because putting all the ornaments on the front, and the sides, without similiar weighting on the back causes the tree to, yes, fall forward onto the floor.

I have a beautiful white tree which is artificial and easy to put up and take down! It revolves as well. That is the main tree.

Then, I have two rotating trees on each end of the house....guest bedroom and the breakfast nook. These are table topper trees.

Then, we put one in the family room for when all of hubby's family comes over. So, yep...I use four trees, inside and several outside. I know...sounds a little flaky on my part but, it's that decorating thing inside of me! LOL

I also have a snow machine which makes it appear as though it is snowing. Very pretty effect!

Right now I have a an artificial regular size tree. The tree lives in a box in the basement, for the kids and grandkids, but am thinking of downsizing to a tabletop tree. It's just the right size and easier to decorate.

I don't bother but my daughter puts up a little table top tree. I also help put up outside lights and some other decorations. If it was just me, I'd skip it but she likes it so I help her. Beside that, I'm afraid she'll either fall off the ladder or fall off the roof. Don't tell her I said this but she's not the most coordinated person in the world.

I try to remember the stars for questions and I like to go through and give TU's to decent answers. I rarely give TD's, I figure we are all entitled to an opinion! If I waited til a holiday season, I would probably not ever give them out. OK, I just came back to this Q and not a one of my TU's are showing - what's up with that?

It depends. When my son was at home, I did get a real one, we would go and cut one ourselves. Later I had an artificial one. Sometimes I just do the village. If I host Christmas, I will put one up. I now have one of those nice foil ones, with the colored wheel to shine on it, and a base that rotates and plays Christmas songs!

I have a very nice 6 foot tall artificial one that I use, since the cats convinced me that I didn't want to put up any more real ones....they knocked my last real tree down FOUR times until I finally resorted to putting in eye bolts on two walls and TYING the tree in place!

Now if I could only convince the youngest cat to stop OPENING the presents! (She ADORES playing with rattly paper!)

My husband always takes the grandchildren to purchase a live tree. I expect he will as long as he is able. The mess of the needles is well worth the joy the youngest take in picking out the tree.

Since there's just my wife, our dog and our cat, I just put out my crystal nativity scene with a hand made 'manger'. Since our grand kids are in Oregon and we're in Virginia, doesn't seem to be worth the trouble to put up a big tree. We do have an small electric tree we did put out last year.
