What if you feel as if they are all the same, only publicly representing different factions? Then what?

Unfortunately they all are probably, at least the front runners. I seriously doubt Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich are though so there are other options. We need people considering not only the front runners and look at every candidate seriously.

Rally like-minded, disinterested, frustrated voters to support an independent/ minor-party candidate. Turn off your TV sets so that Big Media's ratings drop and the "top-tier" candidates no longer have an effective mouthpiece to rehash the same, tired empty promises.

Or, when all else fails, write in a fictitious character for president.

Then you start trying to figure out how these "two" parties got such an absolute lock on the electoral process, and what we can do to change it.

Follow the money. It's not a pretty picture.

You take the biggest concerns you have, say the top 3 and then ask yourself which party can I depend on the most to do the best job here?

My top 3 concerns are 1) National security and the threat of terrorism. 2) Family values, pro-life and traditional marriage protections 3) Securing our borders

For me, the Republican party is the most qualified and committed to taking care of these, so that is the party I will be voting for (1st time!!) in 2008.

I'm a Libertarian but tend to vote Republican because, in all honestly, the left scares the hell out of me. I'm not thrilled with the Republicans, but what they're *supposed* to stand for is a lot closer to my personal ideology. Small government, low taxes, aid for those truly in need, and a kick in the butt of those who want to take money from the truly needly by scamming the system.

Vote for a third party candidate. They most likely won't win but at least you made the attempt. That and in my family we have the rule that if you don't vote you can't gripe about the president who is elected.
