I am 20 years old and have been on birth control for many years now. My periods are very regular and come when I take my placebo pills wich does not usualy follow any particular cycle, just when its convenient for me. My last period started on august 5th (about 4 weeks ago) and went normally. Last night I felt very dizzy and had very bad cramps wich I passed off as gas and felt these symptoms again this morning. When I was in the shower today, I noticed I was bleeding from inside my vagina. The blood was accompanied by alot of little blood clots and has continued (very lightly) since. Is it possible to have a miscarriage before even knowing you are pregnant? Or could this just be spotting from an irregular period? Any way to tell?

Yes, it is possible to have a miscarriage before knowing you are pregnant. It happened to me with my 1st "pregnancy". My doctor told me that one in three 1st pregnancies end in miscarriage, but go unnoticed because they happen so early. Get checked to be on the safe side. If you are having a miscarriage, you want to be checked out to make sure you are ok and if not, then you have peace of mind.

Doctors estimate that between 60-80 percent of all pregnancies are lost before a woman knows she is pregnant, and many doctors think that every woman will have a miscarriage at some point during her reproductive life. Talk to your doctor and describe your symptoms in detail - no one here is of authority to make a diagnosis on your behalf, and it would be good for you to find out what's causing your bleeding. Good luck.

Go to your OBGYN to have it checked out. If you did have one, you want to make sure everything was passed.

Honestly though, the female cycle can do some funny things, even in normal women. I've been taking the pill for over 4 years and sometimes things still act odd.

Yep, I heard most miscarriages take place before the woman even knows she's pregnant.

Go to see your obstetrician. You never know which one it could be. If you are pregnant, you could be having issues. If you are experiencing a miscarriage then you need to know! You could get really sick from that if you don't get it taken care of.
