what is sod? is it like the plastic they sell at home depot or like real grass? I want to buy some but dont know exactlly what it is? what does this mean Fresh Sod/Lawn 90/10 Blue Fescue ? please help best gets a10

Sod is grass from a "Sod Farm" they grow it, peel it up, roll it up, and sell it. It should be laid down on your soil within 24 hours, it should be watered at least 3 times a day for the first two weeks, focus on the edges, they dry out the fastest. the 90/10 usually mean a mix of 90% bluegrass, and 10% tall fescue. It helps it make it a heartier grass since some grasses handle cold better, and some handle heat better, the mix is so during the winter (when one grass goes dormant, the other will take over) and vice versa. It helps to keep the lawn green all year long.

It's real grass with the roots already in dirt. It comes in strips about 18" by 6'. It's the best. Green side up and add water.

same as above,real grass, in 'strips', but Blue Fescue is the type of grass in THAT specific sod... there are other kinds, too.... dunno what the 90-10 is , unless it's 90% fescue and 10% other types....
