y = - 2 x is equation of line.
To draw the line , two points are required.
(0 , 0) and (4 , - 8) would be two such points.
The line may now be drawn thro` these points.

y = -2x.

Linear equations always follow the model (although not always written this way) y = mx + b. This notation is known as slope-intercept form. The m is the slope and the b is the y-intercept. Merely plug the -2 and the 0 in to get your equation.

The standard form of equation for slope intercpt is
y = mx + c ------ eqn(1)
where m = slope
c = y intercept
here m = -2
c = 0
substituting these values in eqn (1)
y = - 2x + 0
y + 2x = 0

M=-2
y1=0
x1=0
y-y1=M(x-x1)
y-0=-2(x-0)
y=-2x
