I sometimes feel like it would have been nice to be around before TV where people had to use their imagination and not their remote controls for entertainment.

I agree with Robert, when I was a child, we couldn't afford a telly, so made our own entertainment, these were deffo the 'good old days' ban TV and bring back the whip and top I say (posted by a very old fashioned 42 year old)! Therefore I would go back around 50 years, before TV.

There was an interesting short story written by Isaac Azimov about a scientist who devoloped a machine to allow people to look into the past. It had the unforseen result that, instead of researching Ancient Rome or similar, they wasted their time in re-evaluating everything they did the previous day.
Personally, I am a man of the 19th Century but I don't want to go back there because I'd be too comfortable.

I have also wondered what it was like way back when. I would like to see all kinds of eras. I couldn't decide. A few of my favorites are the Middle Ages, the 50's, the 60s, the Civil War era.

Oh, i thought you meant back to change something in your life, but guess not....well other then changing your future, i wouldn't want to go back, cause they had no toilets, no clean water to take a bath, and there was way too much violence, like racism, killing innocent people due to mistaken witches, and too many royalty thingys, battles and war...so on....even though there is still violence now, i believe it was much more cruel back then.

I wouldn't want to because it can change the course of history spinning us into an alternate future worse than this. The butterfly effect would be a realistic way to see what you do effects everything.
