The derivative is"

(2/3)(X + 1)^(-1/3)

or

(2/3)(1 / (X + 1)^(1/3))

The derivative will be undefined where the denominator of the fraction is zero. So it's undifferentiable when X = -1

f(x) is continuous for all reals.
dy/dx is discontinuous at x = -1, although f(x) has a minimum value of 0 at x = -1.
