CUBA is the only country that is OFF-LIMITS. The reason is not because of any inherent dangers to American citizens, but rather because of the ancient but still in-place ECONOMIC EMBARGO that was imposed against the former host and consort of SOVIET influence in this hemisphere AND against it's leader, the dictator, Fidel Castro.
The policy seems to be that tourist and American dollars should not benefit Godless Communists...at least not the ones in CUBA. CHINA...is....uhhh...different, though..:-)
