Until the team addresses their need for a defence that can stop the likes of Detroit, Colorado, etc............they won't be that much better. When Andrei Zyuzin and James Vandermeer are your most experienced defencemen....you have worries.
The addition of Kane adds depth, but at 18 he may not be a big contributer. Denis has also said he isn't going to push the guy out of the gate.
Toews will make an impact on offence. he has proven he can play with the big boys with his taking a regular shift at last year's World Championships.
Kevyn Adams brings a lot of experience and grit to the team as well.
So, will they be better? Yes
Will they make the playoffs? Possible. There are a lot of mediocre teams in the West that will be battling for the last couple of playoff spots

Yes they will. I mean they could only improve...they have an awsome stud in Towes comming in along with Lang, Sampsonov, Kane, Williams, and Perreault. Their youngsters already there have a year under their belt and will be better. Ruttu is looking to have a career high in points and they will have Havlat for the entire season now. They are looking like they will really score some goals this season but will still be mediocre. Dont expect miracles but they will be better. Proabably 12th in the confrence.

They'll improve and be much better. But with all the powerhouses in the West, it'll be hard. Toews, Kane and Havlat should give them a bright future though.

I think they will start slow and after the club realizes Lang can't cut it Toews will see more ice time and the club will have a better second half.
