Yea,
Go youtube.com and search how to build a pc and watch a few vids, just like the other guy said.
The essentials for a pc are :
Motherboard (Good brands are DFI,Asus,Abit,Gigabyte etc)
CPU - Proccessor (Either AMD or Intel )
Case - (Totally your choice, but dont pick one with a PSU in)
PSU (Power supply unit - Higher the Watt the better, depends wat you need to power )
Graphics card ( Presuming you do gaming? If you dont, then you can get away with not having one if your motherboard has an onboard Graphics)
RAM (The more the better - Look for 1GB minimum, and as i said the more the better , also the Mhz means something.. i.e. 800Mhz is better than 553Mhz, check what the motherboard supports)
Case fans (What the name says, fans for your case, you'll have to find out wat size your case supports i.e. 80mm, 120mm 92mm etc.)
I think thats about all..
Then you've got the obvious items you've seen hundreds of times before, ( speakers, mice, keyboard, screen etc.)
